My Story
I have really fair skin and freckles and baking in the sun
has never been an option for me. I burn, turn red, and peel. I
was never able to tan. Not to mention, I do not want to have to
worry about the complications such as skin cancer (melanoma) provided by sun
bathing or tanning beds.
Years ago, my husband mentioned airbrush tanning as an
alternative to get tan and achieve that look I always wanted and
talked about. I had heard of Mystic tanning (stand-up booth) in
the past but always heard the horror stories about how you turn
orange like an "Oompa Loompa", and how the tan never went on evenly. No way was I going
to do that! With my fair skin, I could not chance anything that
might make me look orange! Any little tanning mishap would
definitely show on my skin. So I resorted to the stinky sunless
tanning lotion that left me greasy and my sheets smelly.... and
I could not easily reach ALL my body, so parts like my back,
were left white. My husband would also dry heave at the smell of
these lotions, so if I wanted him to sit next to me, I couldn't
wear these smelly lotions! LOL!
Before I met my husband, he had been airbrush tanned for special events. He
told me about and took me to this lady that applied
this sunless tan with an airbrush gun and not a stand up booth.
I decided to give it a shot and found out that the technology
and development of sunless tanning had revolutionized!!! I was
hooked after my first session. Golden brown and the color looked
natural...no orange. For the first time in my life, I was tan!
But... the place shut down!!
During this
time, I worked for a Pharmaceutical company in the finance
department for 6 years...the 8am to 5pm job! I loved the job and
loved the people I worked with! I was a "numbers" girl, dealing
with everything from the budget, to payroll, to Accounts
Payable. On top of being a full time mom and wife, I was
also going to school online (University of Phoenix) to get my
Bachelors in Business. Like many of you, my day was beyond
packed full!
With tanning
salons shutting down all the time, I
decided to purchase my own machine to have my husband tan me
every week. This way I could have my wonderful tan all year
long. I was able to wear shorts on the weekend, and not have to
worry about my white legs!
Within six months of my
husband and I tanning each other in our garage (either hot or
cold), and 1 year left of school until graduation, I decided to
post an ad on craigslist to see if I could make enough money a
month doing airbrush tanning to cover my student loans.
After six months or working endlessly I was able to quit my full
time pharmaceutical job to do
EO Tan™
full time! I feel very blessed to be able to run a successful
business and be at home with my 2 boys and husband. I
cannot put a price on being able to stay home with my kids, so I
take this business very serious.
I had NO idea how much money it would cost upfront
to figure out the best of the best! From solutions to, tanning
machine, materials, computers, online and offline advertising,
internet hosting, website design, photo shoots, and so on and so
on. Oh yeah, and the thousands upon thousands of hours spent
doing it all. Not to mention all the cost of starting a legit
business. If you own a business you know exactly what I am
talking about.
Since starting my business, I have gone through just about
all the trials and tribulations of testing sunless solutions. I
have spent countless hours and a lot of money talking to industry professionals to
find what the best sunless solution is. After all the testing
and research, EO Tan™ is now using our own custom solution that
we know will not turn you orange and will give you the best
golden bronze results. There are a lot of myths in the industry
and with sale ploys, you have to be careful. Understanding what
you are using is the difference between being the best and being
the rest.
Depending on your occasion, I will create a color that
will be perfect for your skin tone. All of this can be done in
15 minutes. It gets even faster as clients become familiar
with the process.
My husband and I are a team in this business and work
together as a family. He gets all the enjoyment of doing the
website and corporate logistics...doesn’t that sound FUN!!
Together we make a great team. We both look forward to helping
you achieve that golden tan you always dreamed of. You can soon
