Greetings Reign Royals!
The bronzed beauties of the EO Tan Ontario Reign Ice Girls are bringing thrills and big smiles to fans during home games and even at team events. Last week I caught up with the newest member of the squad Ice Girl Kelly.
Q: Where are you from?
Ice Girl Kelly: I was born and raised in Corona, California.
Q: How did you find out about being an EO Tan Ice Girl?
Ice Girl Kelly: Hockey is my favorite thing and I always wanted to be part of it. I went to an Anaheim Ducks game when they played the Los Angeles Kings and saw that they had a dance team and it looked really fun. I didn’t know the Reign had a team, so I kept checking their website. Finally an opening popped up over the summer.
Q: Who is your favorite NHL hockey team?
Ice Girl Kelly: Well, my favorite West Coast team is defiantly the Los Angeles Kings and my favorite east coast team is the Pittsburgh Penguins. If the Kings and Penguins played I would defiantly wear my Penguins jersey!
Q: Why Pittsburgh?
Ice Girl Kelly: I saw Mario Lemieux play and I got inspired.
Q: You obviously love hockey, but do you like any other sports?
Ice Girl Kelly: I played softball growing up and I did a lot of gymnastics. I always wanted to play ice hockey, I did play a lot of street hockey as a kid, but my two brothers didn’t want me to play ice.
Q: Are you currently in school?
Ice Girl Kelly: Yes, I am currently a nursing major at Riverside Community College.
Q: Who is your favorite Ontario Reign player?
Ice Girl Kelly: Tim Kraus.
Q: How do you like the EO Tan?
Ice Girl Kelly: I have never been tanned before, it feels really good! It was my first experience doing something like that. It’s actually pretty fun when they spray you.
